Terms of Service

Last updated: 3 June 2026

Agreement

By creating an account or using SongScratch, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. SongScratch is operated by Wiredcoyote Digital, based in Cheshire, United Kingdom.

The service

SongScratch is a web application for capturing, organising, and developing musical ideas. We provide the tools; the creative content is entirely yours.

Your content

You retain full ownership of everything you create in SongScratch — audio recordings, lyrics, notes, and all other content. We do not claim any rights over your creative work. We store and process your content solely to provide the service to you.

You are responsible for the content you upload. Do not upload content that infringes on others' intellectual property or that is illegal under UK law.

Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. One person or entity per account — sharing accounts is not permitted.

Free and Pro plans

SongScratch offers a free tier with usage limits and a paid Pro tier with expanded limits and additional features. Free tier limits may be adjusted over time, but we will not reduce limits for existing users without reasonable notice.

Payments and subscriptions

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. You can cancel at any time — your Pro access continues until the end of your billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by law.

Prices may change with 30 days' notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.

Acceptable use

Don't use SongScratch to store or distribute illegal content, malware, or content that violates others' rights. Don't attempt to exploit, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the service. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Availability and reliability

We aim to keep SongScratch available and reliable, but we cannot guarantee 100% uptime. We are not liable for any loss of data or interruption to service, though we take reasonable measures to prevent both. We recommend you maintain your own backups of important creative work.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wiredcoyote Digital shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of SongScratch. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
